Usually the only jewellery that would come to mind if you mentioned the sea would be pearls, however oddly jewels and the deep blue appear to be partnering up for a number of up and coming events! Perhaps the luxury and glamour associated with yachts in the ocean were seen as the perfect backdrop for jewellery lovers to discover new gems, but either way we certainly wouldn’t be complaining if we were aboard any of the following boats!

Firstly there is the Megayacht that’s playing host to the International Contemporary Jewellery Fair in Miami! The $40 million purpose built yacht will showcase a unique collection of jewellery created by designers and artists from around the world between the 5th-9th December 2012. The fair at Chopin Plaza, downtown Miami will be open from 12pm-10pm each day; tickets are available on the door prices at $20 for a day pass. If the promise of viewing beautiful jewellery on a luxury yacht isn’t tempting enough, the event will include cocktails, champagne and caviar to be served on the sky deck and VIP and Luxe Lounges for guests to gather and socialise.

For those of you proclaiming that one day couldn’t possibly be long enough to spend in a beautiful sunny country surrounded by stunning jewellery then how does a specially organised jewellery cruise sound? The proposed cruise would take guests around five countries in the Middle East (Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and UAE), a key location for buyers in the jewellery industry. The cruise is due to launch in November 2013 and they do say good things come to those who wait!
